Letter to Crane Operators
Crane training with Thomas Barth in classroom and on site at your place of business will give you that piece of mind, and cover the essential information that you will need, with practical advice on the equipment you use daily, whether a new operator or a re-certification. You will get what you need to be a safe operator and further to come into compliance.
Now that you have a crane license from a recognized agency, it does not mean you meet the standards. Example if you have a license to operate a 20 ton hydraulic crane, does that mean you can operate a 300 ton hydraulic crane, or have a license for a 50 ton crawler crane can you operate a 300 ton crawler crane? NO!!! That’s like saying OH! I have a pilot’s license to operate a plane, WOW! would you get on a plane with someone that has a license to operate a small prop plane and now wants to take you on a 747?
ANSI and OSHA standards include a variety of cranes, but operators should be trained, on the cranes they will be operating.
Don’t be confuse with what operator training mandated, there are so many questions between standards, private and regulatory requirements. ANSI and OSHA standards include a variety of cranes, and don’t forget the manufacturer recommendations.
Although an independent organization trains you, and your state requires it, one over looked essential in training is often left out, after that test you still do not come into compliance with the ANSI standards or Code of Federal regulations, and the manufacturers recommendations. The advantage of using Barth Crane Training is that we eliminate that gap and you will be in compliance.
What to do? Because all these regulations and standards are not clearly defined: First check out the trainer, how long has he been training, his qualifications, and accreditation’s. Make sure he can prepare you on the crane you will be operating, and that you will meet all the standards of ASME/ANSI B30, and the OSHA regulations, and he has a solid training program. Barth Crane is proud of the training we provide, and you will be in compliance. We welcome your call to check us out.
